Up and Down

Our son is now out of control and pulling himself up on EVERYTHING. He somehow has the idea that he can walk and stand up on his own without holding onto anything. Sometimes when he gets himself pulled up, he decides to let go and see if he can stand; he can't and tumbles down. Other times he sees something close to where he is and he starts going towards it. Since he has not yet developed the ability to walk, he again tumbles to the ground. Then he pops right back up and tries again. It's so great to watch his determination to keep trying after he falls down. This week he's also gotten very steady on his knees. He gets right up and can play for a little bit. It's really helping him to reach things that before were thankfully out of his reach. I can't believe how many things he's found in this house to play with. Daddy has also taught him to jump while on his knees which is funny to watch. All of a sudden you'll see him lunge towards something.

He's such a curious little boy and wants to see and taste everything. He's started licking the floor registers, walls, trim, carpet - pretty much anything he comes across. It's really quite disgusting. Luckily no one has ever died from dust poisoning.
