Drew Turns Two

Yesterday was Drew's second birthday and I just can't believe that. Time is flying by and it makes me sad to think that in another blink of an eye he's going to be in school and off doing his own thing.

Drew loved all the attention he received yesterday. He had two video messages from Aunt Karla and Levi which excited him to no end. After viewing the messages he went downstairs and saw Mitch. He yelled out "Daddy, LEVI, LEVI" telling Mitch that he had seen Levi on the phone. He was thrilled that Levi had sent him a message for his birthday. Then he had a good chat on the phone with Aunt Amanda. It's so funny to watch him actually have conversations on the phone now. Next he opened presents from us and had dinner and jello jigglers. When he saw the pan of jello sitting there with a candle he let us all know it was time to sing to him. With my birthday just two weeks ago he knows the drill. After dinner we listened to a voicemail from Uncle Heath and Ainsely. You should have seen his face light up when he heard Ainsely talking to him. He misses her so much and keeps talking about going to Texas to visit her. Later he got to actually talk to her on the phone which was very exciting for him. We let him watch part of an Elmo movie before heading off to bed. I think overall he had a good day. He seems to love his new tools we got him. Tomorrow our families are getting together for a party so I'm sure he's going to love all the attention.

We had his two year doctor's appointment this morning. The doctor couldn't believe how much he had grown. He's four inches taller than at his last appointment at 15 months. She said that he remains to be off the charts with his height. To put it into perspective, she said average 3 year olds are 36 inches tall. Drew right at two is 37.5. She was also impressed with his counting skills saying she's happy when three year olds can count as far as Drew can. She said that he sounds like he's going to be an engineer or something of that sort the way that side of his brain is working right now. We'll see how his interests develop over this next year.

I'll try and get some pics posted after his party. We'll see how fast those come since we don't even have Christmas pics off the camera. We are so bad about that.
