Bedroom Mix Up

We had to move Cade out of his room to get ready for the baby. The plan has always been for Drew & Cade to share a room, but as the date approached it became a somewhat scary idea for us. Cade has always been an awesome sleeper. He goes to bed every night without any noise at all and sleeps all night through. It has been this way since he was about 6 weeks old. Drew on the other hand seems to get worse at sleeping every month. Bedtime has been an ordeal every night and has been very frustrating for us no matter what we try. So, thinking about putting Cade in with Drew has made us slightly panicked that our good little sleeper would be ruined.

Realizing that we had six weeks until the baby would be joining us, we made the leap over the weekend and moved Cade. It has been nothing but shocking really. The first night, Drew told Mitch how happy that he was to have Cade in his room because he likes to have people around him. We've known that he's always wanted us to stay in his room at night or sit where he could see us but didn't want to fall into that trap so we've left him on his own which has caused the long bedtime battles. Now with Cade in his room, we hardly hear a peep out of him and he only comes out if he has to go potty most nights. We do sometimes hear lots of giggling and jabbering and Cade can't even talk yet. I can't imagine what it will be like when they get older and can fully communicate with each other. Hopefully this is a sign that we will actually get some down time soon. I can't imagine having time to relax or accomplish something before I have to go to bed. Just in time I guess for another baby to join the mix and start keeping me up.

Vacation

We just got back from a week of relaxing on the beach in Florida. It was such a great time. We flew which was a first for both boys and they did awesome. We were a little nervous about it but everyone around us on both flights commented upon landing how well they had done.

We spent all but one day enjoying the beach. Drew loved jumping into the water and acting like a crazy three year old boy. I think he probably could have stayed out in the water for hours every day if we could have. Poor Cade wasn't as fond of the beach. He would fall or get pushed and end up with his face covered in sand. He would also get mad at the water when it would come up too far and disturb his play area.

We took a day and went to a nearby zoo. It was so hot there but we still had fun. The boys seemed to enjoy getting to look at the different animals and luckily they had lots of shaded areas to help you avoid the heat. The zoo definitely wasn't as good as the Omaha zoo but it was still a good time.

Mitch was also able to talk me into going to Disney for a day. I really had not planned at all to do that since our kids are so small and it was 90 degrees. I didn't cave until 11 that morning when we were leaving the beach. We ended up being there from 3:30 until 12:30 which made it nice to miss a lot of the heat and crowds. The boys had a really good time even with staying up until after midnight. It'll be fun to go back when Cade is older.

Cade is 4 Months Old

Cade is now four months old. It's amazing how fast time is going by with him. He's already such a big boy. I'm sorry that I don't have a picture to go with this post to be able to show you my chunky little man. We have about a million pictures to get off the camera and Mitch always takes it with him so he can take pictures at the house on his way home.

At Cade's 4 month check last week he was 16 lbs 10 oz and 26" long, both in the 80th percentile. He's gotten so big recently. A few weeks ago I noticed he was outgrowing his 6 month clothes so I got out the 9 month and they were pretty snug. It's crazy that he pretty much skipped right into the 12 month size and he is only 4 months.

He is still the best little baby. He's so happy all the time and sleeps like an angel. At night he'll sleep 12 hours and even nap good during the day. He usually has a smile on his face. He's really enjoying talking to and playing with all his little animal friends on his play mat now. He's almost rolling over but hasn't quite finished it yet. He loves his brother and is fascinated by everything he does. Drew can always get a smile out of Cade no matter whether he's trying or not.

Last week, Cade started eating cereal which he LOVES and can't quite seem to get enough of. It's so funny watching him learn how to swallow food. After just a couple times, he started opening his mouth wide to get a bite and grabbing the spoon to help shove it into his mouth. He's so funny. Due to his sensitive little tummy, we're going to have to take the food thing slow and watch him closely for sensitivities/allergies. I'm so excited to be able to make my baby food again. I really enjoyed doing that for Drew and am looking forward to doing it for Cade. I just need to get all my stuff out of storage so I can have all my supplies.

Hopefully I'll have pictures soon. My plans for tonight just got canceled so maybe I'll be able to go thru all the pics we have. Wish me luck!!

Cool New Apron

Super talented Aunt Kristen made this apron for Drew and we LOVE it. He loves to wear it around the house and help me cook dinner. It is so cute. Thanks Kristen.

May Pictures

I've posted some pictures from May so you can catch up on our little guys. Cade is growing like crazy. The last few weeks I think he grew a ton....he wouldn't stop eating. As soon as he finished a bottle, it was like he was starving again. He's really getting good with holding his head and upper body up during his tummy time and getting noticeable stronger every day. He has really started trying to stand and push off with his legs. Smiles are now constantly pasted across his face which is the best thing ever. Nothing is better than a happy baby. He's especially happy first thing in the morning. I love getting him out of bed and being greeted by the biggest smiles ever. He's also trying to laugh and "talk". I just love this stage right now. Especially since he also sleeps so good. Right now he's sleeping 10 hours at night which is awesome. His napping during the days isn't quite as great but I'll take the night sleep over naps any day.

Drew is also doing really well. He has finally decided that potty training isn't so bad. I stopped using pull ups for the most part to see if that would help. He never cared when he pottied in them so I thought we would see how he did in real underwear. He's only had a couple accidents this week which I'm really pleased with. I'm hoping we're well on our way to being fully potty trained. That would be so great. Now if I could just figure out how to get him to tell me he has to go. He's only done that a couple times and I've tried to reinforce it with "bonus" M&Ms. If he keeps doing good on the toilet he's going to be fat from all the M&Ms. Oh well, at least I won't have to buy any more diapers or pull ups. :)

Recent Happenings

The last couple months have been full for us. Of course we have the addition of our new little man, Cade. He is the best baby ever. We hardly even notice there's a baby living with us because he's so good. He's an awesome sleeper and is so laid back. It's such a nice relaxing change of pace after having our crazy little Drew.

Work on our house has begun. So far we have basement walls and a basement floor. It's so exciting to actually have it started after thinking about it for so long. It doesn't quite seem real that we will have a house to move in to. I cannot wait to get all of our stuff out of storage.

We also just took a Munson family vacation - check out our pics. Last week was spent in Texas after both Heath and Shantel celebrated their college graduations. We had so much fun playing on the beach by day and playing cards or games at night. It was a good week of relaxation and family time. We spent five days in the van driving and were definitely ready to be home Saturday night but luckily the boys did awesome traveling.

Winter Pics

Shocking I know, but I've posted some pics from the last couple months. They include going to state wrestling in Missouri to watch my cousin Levi place second, Drew's birthday, playing outside in the snow, and Drew as our future wrestler. Enjoy!!!

AHHHHHHHH

I can't believe that in a little over two weeks we'll be having our new little baby. It seems like I've been waiting FOREVER and can hardly wait any more, but at the same time, I don't know if I'm quite ready yet to do this again. Today Mitch put the car seat in the van which now looks really weird with two seats. Two kids....really I'm going to have two?!?!?!? Drew was really excited about the baby's seat being in the car. I wasn't sure how he would react since we moved him to the other side of the van. He was super excited almost yelling about how he had a seat and the baby had a seat, so that was good to see. I'm hoping that he handles the baby well. I'm not sure that he'll be the biggest fan of some little crying being that needs lots of attention coming to live with us. I'm sure it will go from lots of hugs and kisses for the baby to wanting mommy to put him/her down and then back to kisses and being helpful.

I thought I was very ready for the baby to come until I realized all I had left to do. I knew we had to still pick out a boy name because we've never come up with one. I'm realizing that it's going to be a last minute thing for us to agree upon one. We had a girl name until yesterday. At my appointment, the nurse asked if we had our name picked out and I told her that we only had a girl name. When she asked what it was I blurted it out and realized I HATED the way it sounded when I said it. That started a whole freak out in my head which was followed by the doctor wanting to have a conversation about C-sections which was terrible. Here's the gist of what she told me.....she's going to cut some vital organs on accident, cut the baby but not so bad that it will leave a giant scar, I'm going to get HIV when I have to have a blood transfusion for whatever reason, and oh yeah, since I have a fibroid and have 10 lb. babies, my uterus isn't going to properly contract after the procedure and they are going to have to do a hysterectomy. Are you kidding me!!!!! I'm sure everything will work out fine but it's not nice to get a pregnant woman all hysterical. I'm perfectly capable of doing that all on my own right now (just ask Mitch). I really don't need her adding fuel to the flame.
